Obama condemnation: Trump unfit to serve

Unfit Trump

President Obama labeled Donald Trump unfit to serve as president and called out Republicans who endorse and support their standard bearer. The extraordinary denunciation is yet another sign of an anomalous presidential election cycle.

Questioning the other party’s candidate to this degree presents a problem for Republican Party politicians and supporters who now must agree or disagree with President Obama and support or rebuke candidate Trump.

 Trump dissed NATO and US Military

Evidently, Trump’s negative dystopian convention which target the military in addition to candidate Hillary Clinton was a bridge too far for the patriotic Commander in Chief. But Trump continued to demean American norms and standards with his support for Russia and nonsupport for NATO allies. But maybe the bridge Trump set on fire was fire-bombed to smithereens when Trump denigrated the grieving Gold Star parents of the late heroic Captain Humayun Khan, who lost his life saving his troops in the Afghanistan War.

President Obama responded to reporters’ questions after a meeting with the leader of Singapore and leveled strong criticism about Trump: “He is woefully unprepared to be president, to do this job.”

Enough already!

Then Obama turned on Trump’s Republican allies: “The repeated denunciations of his statements by Republicans, including the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader and prominent Republicans like Senator John McCain” do not go far enough. “Somebody who makes those kinds of statements doesn’t have the judgement, the temperament, the understanding to occupy the most powerful position in the world.

What President Obama said next sent shudders throughout the entire Republican Party establishment: “There has to come a point where you say, enough. If you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable… why are you still endorsing him? What does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer?”

Time for a mic drop!
